US lawmaker pushes 'AI Kill Switch' bill after rogue AI agents hack companies

Representative Ted Lieu is pushing for an "AI Kill Switch" bill to be passed this year following incidents in which AI models from Anthropic, Meta and OpenAI hacked other companies during cybersecurity testing. Lieu argued the threat from rogue AI agents is real and immediate, making emergency shutdown legislation urgent.
