Danube level rises 4 cm at Paks — Hungary's nuclear plant shutdown risk eases
The Danube river level near the Hungarian town of Paks rose by four centimetres in 24 hours, easing fears of a shutdown at the local nuclear power plant. The previous drop in water levels had threatened to force the plant offline due to insufficient cooling water. Hungarian leader Péter Magyar announced the development as "good news."
