Record-low Danube in Serbia strands boats and exposes sandbanks

The Danube in northern Serbia has fallen to record-low water levels, exposing extensive sandbanks and leaving cargo vessels stranded along the river. Marinas have dried out and navigation is severely disrupted. The situation is the result of a prolonged drought in the region.
