Amur tiger Umit released into Kazakh wild in bid to restore regional population

Kazakhstan has released an Amur tiger named Umit into the Ile-Balkhash Nature Reserve, marking a significant milestone in an effort to restore wild tigers to Central Asia. It is the first such release in the region in over 70 years. The project aims to gradually rebuild a self-sustaining tiger population in the area.
