60% of Americans say rising living costs are the biggest barrier to a better life

A survey of more than 30,000 US adults conducted in mid-April by the McKinsey Institute for Economic Mobility and the WK Kellogg Foundation found that 60% of Americans want greater financial security within three to five years. Rising living costs emerged as the single biggest barrier to a better life, cutting across generational and class lines. The findings suggest economic concerns unite Americans despite deep divisions on values and beliefs.
