Denmark to require oral essay defences and screen monitoring to curb AI cheating

The Danish government has announced stricter anti-cheating measures targeting AI use in upper secondary schools. Students aged 16 to 19 will be required to orally defend their written essays, and schools will be encouraged to have pupils complete written assignments on-site under supervised conditions, including computer screen monitoring. The crackdown applies to the gymnasiet level of education.
