Over $30M stolen in violent crypto attacks in 2026, France top hotspot

Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis reports that more than $30 million was stolen in violent "wrench attacks" on cryptocurrency holders in 2026 through mid-year. France emerged as the top hotspot for such crimes. These attacks involve the physical coercion of victims to hand over access to their digital wallets.
