French wildfires leave 35,000 tonnes of timber — industry struggling to keep up

Wildfires across France prompted emergency logging of more than 35,000 metric tons of trees to create firebreaks and slow the spread of flames. The timber industry is now severely strained, with experts estimating it will take more than two years to remove and process all the charred and cut wood. The fires have left behind enormous quantities of material that the sector is struggling to handle.
