Zakopane breaks record: eighth scorching day this year, average 26.8°C
On 6 August, the temperature in Zakopane exceeded 30°C for the eighth time this year, breaking the all-time record for the number of scorching days in a single year in the Tatra foothills. A record daily average temperature of 26.8°C was also recorded — a level typical of tropical climates. The readings mark a further sign of advancing climate change in the Polish mountains.
