World's first portable diamond quantum computer works at room temperature

German startup Saxon Q has debuted the world's first portable diamond-based quantum computer exceeding 10 qubits, using nitrogen-vacancy defects in synthetic diamonds as qubits — and it runs at room temperature without cryogenic cooling. Rack-mounted systems with up to 128 qubits are already available, with 512-qubit configurations set for delivery next year. The company's roadmap targets scaling beyond 10,000 qubits after 2030.
