Ebola in DRC spreading faster than response as health workers strike over pay

The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is spreading faster than efforts to contain it, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned Wednesday. In Ituri province, the epicentre of the outbreak, frontline health workers have gone on strike over unpaid wages, severely limiting access to healthcare. Families of patients report that the situation on the ground is rapidly deteriorating.
