Cyclospora outbreak from iceberg lettuce kills two people in the US

The United States is experiencing a wave of cyclospora infections, a parasitic illness causing severe, explosive diarrhoea. Two people have died, and the parasite — resistant to washing with water — was found on iceberg lettuce leaves. Doctors warn that diagnosing and tracking the spread of the disease is extremely difficult.
