Bison knocks tourist down in Białowieża Forest — park issues urgent warning

On Monday, 3 August, a bison knocked down a tourist near Stara Białowieża after the man approached the male animal to within just a few metres. The bison charged when the tourist breached its safety zone; bystanders prevented a more serious outcome. The Białowieża National Park warned that the risk of such incidents is especially high during summer and urged visitors to keep a safe distance.
