Archaeologists excavating a site ahead of a new fire station build in Bochum, Germany, uncovered the remains of an Iron Age settlement dating back around 2,500 years. A mysterious ditch found during the dig could significantly alter understanding of the region's settlement history. Archaeological work began before heavy construction machinery moved in.
