Iran to gain control over Strait of Hormuz under deal with Oman

According to Iranian and other Middle Eastern sources cited by Reuters, a planned deal between Iran and Oman would give Tehran control over which vessels pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Reuters describes this as a significant concession by the US to Iran. The strait is one of the world's most critical oil-transit chokepoints.
