567-million-year-old fossils rewrite the dawn of animal life

A fossil site in Canada has yielded 567-million-year-old creatures that may be among the earliest animals to move, reproduce sexually, and develop recognisable body plans. The find pushes key evolutionary milestones back by up to 10 million years. Researchers say complex animal life may have first emerged in the deep ocean, not shallow seas as previously thought.
