Fidesz to boycott Hungary's presidential election as parliament schedules August vote
Viktor Orbán's Fidesz party announced it will boycott the upcoming presidential election in Hungary, with its MPs refusing to take part in the vote. The ruling Tisza party's parliamentary group had filed a motion to hold the election on 11 August. The boycott by Fidesz could complicate the selection of a new head of state.
