Third-party SDKs in popular apps quietly harvest your location data
Third-party advertising SDKs embedded in popular Android apps collect precise location data by default and share it with networks of ad companies, according to a new Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) report. Developers can disable the data collection, but only if they actively audit their SDK settings and opt out — most don't. Users of weather, navigation and similar location-hungry apps are most at risk.
