Death-sentenced Hasina vows return to Bangladesh from exile

Ousted Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has vowed to return home despite facing a death sentence handed down in absentia. Her speech marked the second anniversary of her removal from power. She fled Bangladesh by helicopter in August 2024 following nearly two months of protests that left nearly 1,400 people dead, according to the UN.
