Sony gets $508 million tariff refund — PlayStation buyers won't see a penny back

Sony has received approximately ¥80 billion ($508 million) in tariff refunds from the US government after the Supreme Court ruled President Trump's sweeping tariffs illegal. CFO Lin Tao confirmed that "most" of the refund is going to PlayStation, which had raised PS5 prices in response to the tariffs. Despite this, Sony has given no indication it plans to pass any of that money back to consumers who bought PS5 consoles at the higher prices.
