UN food agency warns food prices will rise by year-end, with peak increases in 2027

The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is warning of a new global wave of food price increases driven by the wars in Iran and Ukraine, which are restricting oil and gas supplies, and the El Niño weather phenomenon. FAO forecasts that prices will begin rising by the end of this year, with the steepest increases expected in 2027.
