FAA says Marine One briefly flew too close to a passenger aircraft

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says Marine One briefly came too close to a passenger airplane. The incident follows a January 2025 mid-air collision between a military helicopter and a commercial jet that killed 67 people, after which the FAA banned mixed helicopter and jet traffic around the airport. The latest near-miss involving the presidential helicopter raises fresh safety concerns.
