Włodawa: three faiths, one small Polish town on the Bug River

Włodawa, a quiet town on Poland's eastern edge along the Bug River, harbours a rare concentration of three religious and cultural legacies: a Jewish synagogue, an Orthodox church and a Baroque Catholic church. Despite its remarkable multicultural heritage rooted in centuries of Polish-Jewish-Ukrainian coexistence, the town remains largely off the tourist radar. Visitors are often struck by how much history is packed into such a small and peaceful place.
