Google Assistant is being shut down, replaced entirely by Gemini

Google is officially shutting down Google Assistant and replacing it with Gemini across its ecosystem. The long-anticipated switch is now being implemented, meaning Android users will have to transition to the new AI assistant. Gemini is set to take over all functions previously handled by Google Assistant.
