Polish air force misses out on SAFE funds for search-and-rescue helicopters

Poland's military search-and-rescue helicopters (ASAR) will not be funded through the EU's SAFE instrument, as the Air Force lost out in prioritisation to a training aircraft programme. New helicopters are urgently needed to support F-35 and AH-64E pilot rescue operations, civilian disaster response, water and land search-and-rescue, and the Air Medical Rescue Service. The procurement need remains unaddressed.
