Russia bans EU poultry transit citing illegal truck with Polish plates

Russia has temporarily banned the transit of EU poultry meat and by-products through its territory, effective 5 August 2026. The Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Service (Rossielchoznadzor) cited the detection of an illegal shipment from Germany that entered Russia via Poland. Russian authorities also raised concerns about the risk of animal disease.
