Record-low Danube levels force Hungary's Paks nuclear plant to cut output
Hungary's Paks nuclear power plant has been forced to cut output due to record-low water levels on the Danube River. As of Wednesday morning, three of the plant's four units were not operating, and the fourth was running at only about 50% capacity. Low river water levels hamper reactor cooling, raising the risk of further shutdowns.
