SpaceX shares drop 10% after debut earnings: $16bn AI spending spree spooks investors

SpaceX shares fell 10% on Wednesday following the company's debut earnings report. Revenues hit $7.8 billion — well above analyst forecasts of $6.82 billion and up 92% year-on-year — while net loss came in at $541 million, better than the $2.12 billion expected. However, capital expenditure of nearly $16 billion on AI and data centres, double the previous quarter, alarmed investors, who were told spending would continue at that level for at least two more quarters.
