US Navy awards Saildrone $16.3M to expand anti-narcotics drone patrols

The US Navy awarded California-based Saildrone a $16.3 million task order to extend operations of its Voyager unmanned surface vehicles in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific for counter-narcotics missions. Shortly before the award, a Saildrone Voyager directly aided the seizure of over $81 million worth of cocaine during a drug interdiction in the Caribbean. The expansion aligns with the Trump administration's efforts to curb illicit narcotics flowing into the United States.
