Heatwave paralyses Netherlands: locks and ferries shut down amid drought

Extreme heat and prolonged drought have forced the Netherlands to close locks and suspend some ferry crossings in the east of the country, with water authorities declaring the highest level of alert. In Slovenia, the country's only nuclear power plant has reduced output due to low water levels in the Sava river. The heatwave is affecting most of Europe.
