Kremlin propaganda declares "new phase": destroy Ukraine, not conquer it

Kremlin propaganda has announced a "new phase" of the war in Ukraine, shifting the stated goal from seizing control of the country to destroying it — so it cannot serve as an attractive alternative for people living under Russian rule. Russia is also signalling its missile superiority, which Ukraine currently lacks the means to counter.
