Spain and Ecuador bust cocaine ring – 44 arrests and 21 tonnes seized

A multiyear joint investigation by Spanish and Ecuadorian police has dismantled a cocaine smuggling ring, resulting in 44 arrests and the confiscation of 21 tonnes of cocaine. The operation is one of the largest anti-drug successes targeting the Latin America–Europe trafficking route. Spanish authorities announced the results of the investigation.
