Kazakhstan to ship 100,000 tonnes of oil via Georgian port Batumi, bypassing Russia
Kazakh company Tengizchevroil plans to export 100,000 tonnes of oil through the Georgian port of Batumi in August. The move comes in response to disruptions at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal in the Russian port of Novorossiysk. Kazakhstan is seeking alternative export routes to reduce dependence on Russian pipeline infrastructure.
