Polish emergency wards on the brink: doctors working six-day shifts, queues packed with non-urgent cases
Polish hospital emergency departments are surviving thanks to doctors working multiple consecutive days without a break and paramedics assigned to impossible schedules. Around half of patients queuing at emergency wards do not actually require emergency care. The report points to a systemic crisis in Poland's emergency medicine system.
