New Polish rules: divorced parents share custody, with exceptions

An amendment to Polish family law introduces shared custody after divorce as the default arrangement for both parents. Exceptions are foreseen for cases involving parental conflict, domestic violence, significant distance between homes, or specific needs of the child. The Justice Ministry stresses that the reform must always serve the best interests of the individual child.
