Poland at EU summit: illegal entry should bar residency rights

Poland's Ministry of Interior announced the country's position at an emergency EU Justice and Home Affairs Council meeting held Tuesday in response to the migration crisis in Ceuta. Warsaw supports a rule that would bar anyone who entered the EU illegally from obtaining residency rights. The meeting was convened to address the escalating situation at Europe's southern borders.
