Court orders USC to recognise same-sex spouses — registry issued document but refused status change
The Regional Administrative Court in Lublin ordered the local civil registry office (USC) to recognise Jolanta and Alicja as wives and to issue a transcript of their marriage certificate. The office issued the document but refused to update their civil status — the women are still listed as single in the official system. Lawyer Anna Mazurczak called the situation a scandal.
