Alcaraz withdraws from Cincinnati Open, US Open defence in doubt

Carlos Alcaraz has pulled out of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Cincinnati due to an ongoing wrist injury sustained when he withdrew from the Barcelona Open second round in April. The seven-time Grand Slam champion had been expected to make his return in Cincinnati, which he won last year. His participation in the US Open title defence this month is now seriously in doubt.
