Two people die in Michigan from Cyclospora parasite outbreak

Michigan health authorities have announced the first two deaths linked to an outbreak of cyclosporiasis, a parasitic illness caused by the Cyclospora organism. The disease typically causes diarrhoea and gastrointestinal symptoms. The deaths mark the first fatalities from this parasitic outbreak in the state.
