Alior Bank's first-half profit drops on higher corporate tax and CJEU ruling
Alior Bank posted a lower first-half profit after being hit by a higher corporate income tax rate, a Court of Justice of the EU ruling on consumer loans and the bankruptcy of a major client. The bank offset falling net interest income — caused by lower interest rates — through business growth. It has also been systematically shedding a bad-loan portfolio that previously threatened its stability.
