Warsaw cop who busted car theft gangs says he was removed for being too effective
Zbyszek Cichecki, a former Warsaw police officer, says his patrol recovered at least 15 stolen cars every month he worked, while all other patrol cars in the area combined managed just four or five. He claims the unit was disbanded precisely because of its effectiveness, which threatened networks protecting car theft gangs. Years later, Cichecki says the mechanism behind his removal is now clear to him.
