Heatwave peaks today — temperatures above 35°C, records possible in eastern Poland

Poland is experiencing the peak of a powerful heatwave with temperatures exceeding 35°C. Record highs are possible especially in the east and south of the country. Violent thunderstorms are also expected to sweep across many regions. Forecasters warn this is likely the hottest day of the current heatwave.
