Polish parliament passes surveillance oversight law — expert doubts its real impact
The Polish Sejm passed a law on Friday strengthening judicial oversight of operational surveillance conducted by intelligence services. The bill now goes to the Senate. Wojciech Klicki of the Panoptykon Foundation, which focuses on privacy rights, warns that the changes may remain only on paper and not translate into genuine judicial scrutiny of surveillance activities.
