Paramount expects WBD merger to close as streaming grows and linear TV fades

Roughly a year after Skydance's acquisition of Paramount, the merged company reported mixed Q2 results: strong streaming growth, tough theatrical comparisons and a continuing decline in linear TV. The company said it "fully expects" its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery to close. A judge has set a March trial date for the attorney general's antitrust case against the deal.
