Racism in UK hospitals is rising — NHS staff warn the scale is alarming

The UK's National Health Service is recording a marked rise in racist behaviour by patients towards medical staff. Representatives of an organisation representing radiographers and radiologists say the scale of the problem is deeply concerning. Staff report incidents in which patients refuse treatment from doctors or nurses because of their ethnic background.
