Ethereum researchers propose burning validator rewards to cap staking at 50%

A new Ethereum Improvement Proposal, EIP-8361, would gradually burn an increasing share of validator rewards as the network's staking ratio approaches 50% of total ETH supply. The mechanism is designed to discourage excessive staking concentration and protect network decentralisation. It represents the latest attempt to balance Ethereum's long-term tokenomics.
