Durov: extortionist planted illegal content to get Telegram pulled from App Store

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov said the app's brief removal from the App Store was caused by an extortionist who deliberately planted illegal content on the platform. Apple restored the app after the offending content was removed. Durov stressed that Telegram was the victim of deliberate sabotage rather than any systemic failure to police illegal material.
