Kazakhstan releases first Amur tiger into the wild in over 70 years to revive extinct Caspian species

Kazakhstan has released the first Amur tiger into the wild in more than 70 years as part of an effort to restore the extinct Caspian tiger to Central Asia. The Caspian tiger disappeared in the 20th century, and the Amur tiger is its closest genetic relative. The release marks a historic milestone in the rewilding programme.
