Durov: extortionist planted CSAM on Telegram to get it pulled from App Store

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has accused an extortionist of planting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in a public chat to force the app's temporary removal from Apple's App Store. Apple removed Telegram without first contacting the company, according to Durov's post on X. He warned the incident creates a systemic risk for other apps if bad actors can exploit Apple's moderation process this way.
