Tesla's Shanghai factory breaks production records, but Chinese sales keep falling
Tesla's Shanghai factory produced a record 93,579 cars in June, up 38% year on year, but sales to Chinese customers have been declining for more than a year, largely due to waning interest in the Model 3 sedan. Over 40% of June's output was destined for export markets. In Q2 overall, more than half of China-built Teslas — 128,394 units — were exported to Europe, Canada and other Asian markets.
